Lima - Cusco - Sacred Valley - Machupicchu - Lake Titicaca - Arequipa - Colca Canyon - Lima

DAY 1
Arrival Lima.

Greeting and transfer to your hotel. Most flights from the USA arrive late night, so we accommodate you in hotel located close to the airport.

DAY 2
Lima – Cusco

We transfer you to the airport for your early morning flight to Cusco. On arrival our Team will meet you and transfer you by private car to your hotel in the centre of Cusco.In the afternoon you have a Private City Tour visiting the most important sites of Cusco (The Cathedral, Koricancha “Temple of the Sun”, Tambomachay “Temple of the Water”, Pukupukara “Red Fort”, Qenqo “The Maze” and the very impressive site of Sacsayhuaman which we are still not entirely sure whether it was a fort or religious area.

DAY 3
Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes

We will collect you from your hotel and take you on the Private Tour of the Sacred Valley.  We will visit Awanacancha Cultural Village, where you can see and interact with many species of camelids (alpacas, llamas, vicuñas).  Here you will also see ladies making fine alpaca weavings.  From here we travel to the town of Pisac where we visit the market for a little while and then travel by car up to the ruins above the town.  We will walk   in the area of the ruins for around 1 hour.  From here we make our way back to Urubamba where we take lunch in a touristic restaurant (not included in the cost). Our final place to visit is  the pretty Andean town of Ollantaytambo.  We will hear all about the amazing history of this village and explore some of its pretty lanes.   We end the tour in Ollantaytambo and take the train to Aguas Calientes. On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel which is a short walk away. Rest of the evening at leisure – perhaps take a dip in the hot springs!

DAY 4
Machupicchu!

This morning you rise early to take the bus together with your guide up to the ruins of this beautiful New World Wonder, Machupicchu!!  You will walk with your guide around the citadel exploring the most important sites and temples learning about the civilisation that once inhabited this mountain top citadel.  The tour lasts around 2 hours and afterwards you have free time to explore on your own. When you are ready you make your way back to the town for lunch (not included in the price).  You can explore the town a little, maybe get some souvenirs in the market, and then we take the train back to Ollantaytambo where you will overnight.

DAY 5
Ollantaytambo – Moray – Salineras – Chincheros –  Cusco

Your guide will meet you at the hotel this morning and we continue further exploring the Sacred Valley.  We start making our way back to Cusco and will stop enroute at the little town of Maras which is the gateway to the Inca circular terraces of Moray commonly referred to as the “Inca Greenhouse” due to the fact that it is believed these terraces were used to experiment with growing crops at various levels of altitude.  From here we visit the ancient saltworks of Salineras where salt is still being farmed using the age-old techniques.   From here we make our way to the market town of Chincheros where we will visit the market and the pretty colonial church in this town.  We then continue back to Cusco and leave you in your hotel in the early afternoon.

DAY 6
Cusco

Free day to explore wonderful Cusco!  Perhaps take a walk to the well-known San Pedro food market and try one of the local smoothies or go to the Inca Museum or explore the old area of San Blas (the artistic area).

DAY 7
Cusco - Puno (Lake Titicaca)
Pick Up Time:  6.20am (bus departs 7am)

We take the TurismoMer Bus Service from Cusco to Puno.  This is a touristic bus service that stops at various sites enroute such as Andahuayllilas Chapel, Raqchi, La Raya (photostop) and Pukara.   The total journey is 10 hours approximately and that includes the stops.  Lunch is included in Sicuani.  You arrive in Puno at approx. 5pm and will be met at the bus terminal by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

DAY 8
Lake Titicaca

Our Representative will collect you from your hotel and transfer you to the Port of Puno.  Today we will venture out on Lake Titicaca - our first stop will be the Floating Islands of Uros.  From here we continue to Amantani Island where we stay with a local Family tonight.

Day 9
Lake Titicaca

Enjoy breakfast with your family before continuing onwards to the Isle of Taquile.  Here we find beautiful local costumes and hand woven products.  In the late afternoon we return to the Port of Puno and transfer back to your hotel.

Day 10
Puno - Chivay (Colca Canyon)

This morning we collect you from your hotel in the morning and we transfer you in our small group service from Puno to Chivay in the Colca Canyon.  The drive takes around 5-6 hours passing scenic landscapes.  On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.  You can enjoy the natural hot springs here at Calera in the afternoon if you wish – these are great medicinal waters.

DAY 11
Colca Canyon - Arequipa

We have an early departure at around 6am to the viewpoint of Condor Cross (Cruz del Condor) where we can observe the majestic condor in flight.  We spend a few hours here watching the birds flying on the thermal updrafts – it’s a spectacular sight!  Once we are finished viewing we make our way to the little villages of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque that have beautiful colonial churches.  We stop for a bit and explore a little, also stopping for another view of the amazing Canyon!  We get back to Chivay around lunchtime, take lunch, and then in the early afternoon we start making our way to Arequipa.  It’s a beautiful drive where you will pass by the well known Volcanos that surround the city.  We also stop enroute for lunch in Chivay and afterwards we travel to the “White City” of Arequipa, dropping you off in your hotel.

Day 12
Arequipa

We collect you from your hotel for a Private City Tour.  Our first stop is the Santa Catalina Monastery, a wonderful place that housed the nuns of Arequipa for centuries. Later on we will walk around the main square of Arequipa, a nice spot surrounded by colonial arches. At the main plaza we will visit the interiors of magnificent Cathedral of Arequipa. Later on we visit the Museum of Santuarios Andinos where we will see the Mummy named Juanita, an amazing frozen body of a little girl found at the cold slopes of the Ampato Mountain.  The tour lasts approx. 4 hours and we return you to your hotel afterwards.

DAY 13
Arequipa - Lima

We transfer you to the airport for your flight to Lima.  On arrival you will be met and taken on a Private City tour. You will have the opportunity to visit one of the most important architectural constructions of the 17th century, Convent of Saint Francis. This complex has a small square, the convent and church. Its cloisters have beautiful tiles and one can visit the catacombs which are more than 300 years old. We then visit the three most important sites from colonial times: Plaza Mayor, plaza San Martin, Palacio de Gobierno (known as the house of Pizarro), and the Municipality, preserving their original architecture. This 3-hour sightseeing tour offers the best of colonial and modern Lima. The tour ends with a visit to the modern suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores.  We take you to your hotel after the tour.

Day 14
Lima - Home

Free day. We transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
